Defcon Watch: Deep faking "monster missiles"
North Korean ICBM test a sham
Looks like Kim Jong-Un wanted a real big win—or even a real big fake one—in front of his people before the upcoming Day of the Sun, an important patriotic holiday in the North Korean calendar that celebrates the birthday of the country’s “Eternal President,” Kim’s grandpa, Kim Il-Sung. (How wonderfully Orwellian and dynastic in true Communist tradition.)
U.S. and South Korean intelligence officials believe that when the real missile crashed and burned, Kim ordered a “successful” test of a smaller, less advanced missile that the regime had already successfully tested in 2017.
Could the upcoming nuke test that Kim is said to be planning be part of the same scripted program? Will Pyongyang fake that, too? A radioactive whimper presented as a thermonuclear bang. How to respond, if at all?
