Russia sends flotilla to salvage its sunken Black Sea Fleet flagship
First and foremost, to recover any sensitive materials: ship logs; radio and communication code-keys and code-books; and of course, those two “Broken Arrows”: the loose nukes tipping a couple of those nuclear-warhead capable Vulkan anti-ship missiles that went down with the sunken cruiser. Oh yeah, and possibly hundreds of bodies belonging to the young Russian sailors likely still on board at the time of her sinking, though the Kremlin has avoided confirming anything to do with that very touchy topic, falling back on their usual cheap magic lantern show: nothing to see here…
Let’s hope NATO was able to act swiftly enough with either US Navy SEALs, British Special Boat Service or similar assets so that the Russians find those code-book and nuke cupboards bare by the time their own divers get down there. Be a dang shame to miss all that sunken treasure.
Yup, I like Ryan’s plan: “We definitely grab the boat…”
Or at least what’s on it.
Other than those bodies.
Let the Russians bring up their own dead.
That blood’s on their hands.
