Well, duh.

This after digging trenches in contaminated soil without proper NBC (Nuclear-Biological-Chemical) gear. Straight out of the old Soviet playbook. The Red Forest just happens to be the most radioactive area of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, site of the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history.

“Local reports suggest that seven buses with the zapped troops arrived in Gomel [Belarus, site of a special radiation medical center] early Thursday,” according to the Daily Beast (via Yahoo News). “Journalists on the ground have also reported ‘ghost buses’ of dead soldiers being transported from Belarus to Russia under the cover of dark.”

But of course.

At least they didn’t blow the place up.

Again.
